Abigale’s Happy Tail: A Blind Dog’s Life-Changing Journey

In a week’s time, Abigale’s life was changed forever. This one-year-old blind dog arrived at the Oregon Humane Society with 20 other dogs on an ASPCA flight from Texas. Her past was a mystery to our team, but her sweet, friendly personality shined through.

During her brief stay at OHS, Abigale received onsite medical care, including an eye examination from a local specialist, and lots of daily snuggles and treats from our staff. Abigale needed just the right adopter to help her feel safe and secure in a new home. She found exactly that in adopter Melissa.

On March 28, just 8 days after arriving at OHS, Abigale was adopted by Melissa.

“Abigale is a sweet, special girl,” says Melissa. “My mother-in-law, who has macular degeneration, met Abigale yesterday and said she was an inspiration, so brave and curious. She is already learning the layout of our home and yard.”

Thank you, Melissa, for giving Abigale a wonderful home!
