School Service Project Raises Funds for OHS

Young Donors, Big Hearts

You’re never too young to care for the animals! That was the case for a fourth grade class at Holy Redeemer Catholic School who wanted to help the pets at Oregon Humane Society with their school service project. The kids fundraised with OHS’ Recycle for Rescues Program, where bottles and cans are collected in BottleDrop’s non-profit blue bags and redeemed to help shelter pets while in their home-between-homes.

In just 5 days, the class collected 15 blue bags of recyclables! At roughly 10 cents per recyclable, the drive raised about $85 in donations, which helped feed 8 pets in the shelter for one week. We are so grateful for the teachers who incorporate giving back to the community in their classrooms, and for the young philanthropists who use their big hearts to support animals in need.

Support Pets by Recycling

Between Nov. 15–Dec. 2, funds raised to OHS with Blue Bags or transferred from Green Bag accounts are eligible for a 20% match thanks to BottleDrop Give! Recycling your cans and bottles reduces landfill waste while helping shelter pets.
