Urgent Arrival of 21 Dogs

Oregon Humane transfers 21 dogs to our care from a community member in crisis.

At Oregon Humane, we’ve learned that a call to help animals in crisis can happen at a moment’s notice.

We recently shared the news of our team mobilizing quickly to help 23 animals from a suspected neglect case in Lake County. With your support, we can be ready to respond to multiple emergencies at a time.

Just as we began assisting the animals from Lake County, we received news regarding a distressed community member in crisis. They were losing their housing this week and needed placement for their 21 dogs—immediately. Initially, Multnomah County Animal Services had been contacted by the community member, but it was determined Oregon Humane was the only agency with the resources necessary to assist swiftly.

These dogs were deeply loved by their owner but have an unknown medical history.

Once again, our team answered the call for help—traveling to the community member’s home to carefully load the dogs into our transport vehicles and getting them settled once they arrived at Oregon Humane. Equally important, our team provided this community member with compassionate reassurance that the dogs will be cared for and supported as they find new, loving homes.
