What my friends at OHS say about me:

• I have been working with the Behavior team at OHS and I'm looking for a special home. It will take time and patience to get to know me. Click the "meet me" button to start the process and schedule an appointment.
• To learn more about my specific needs, please read my What to Expect handout.
• I love to learn! You can use my favorite toys or treats as positive reinforcement and to teach me new things. I already know some basic cues such as, sit, down, wait, touch, retrieve, & crate and I'm putting in the work to learn how to walk nicely on leash!
• High Energy: I can become easily frustrated if my physical and mental exercise needs are not met. I will need positive outlets and a calm environment to help me flourish.
• I am used to living an active lifestyle! I would love to get up and go adventure with you. Looking to try cool dog activities or sports? I am a great partner for that!
• Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.
• Resource Guarding: I have a history of guarding my people, food, toys and/or bedding from other animals or people.
• I really enjoy the company of my human friends.

The type of home I'm looking for:

• I had so much fun meeting other dogs here in the shelter. My friends at OHS think I would be great at making new dog friends!
• I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted.
• I need to go to an adult only home.
• I need a home without cats or other small animals.

Meet and greets with pets are done on a first-come, first-served basis.

When you come to the shelter and see a pet you are interested in meeting, take note of the pet’s name and visit the front desk in the lobby.
