Tip #1: Add a Dose of Pawsitive Energy

If doing your taxes makes you feel a bit gloomy, add some cheer!

A Charitable Checkoff donation to Oregon Humane allows you to direct part, or all, of your tax refund to animals in need—transforming a daunting task into a joyful to-do.

The best of mews of all is that for the 2025 tax year, Oregonians can expect to receive an Oregon tax kicker, a return of excess revenue from the previous year to taxpayers. For 2025, there is a whopping $1.41 billion in revenue surplus—that means extra moolah for you, and the animals!

Your Charitable Checkoff donation supports statewide programs like Humane Law Enforcement and Second Chance, helping to improve the lives of thousands of animals. Best of all, it will leave you feline purrty dang good!

Tip #2: Keep Track of Impawtent Documents

By now, your mailbox is being littered with impawtent year-end documents to keep track of! Don’t accidentally bat them into the recycling bin.

Tuna recommends storing all your year-end paperwork in one folder as they arrive. This way, when you sit down to do your taxes, all your documents will be in one place and ready to go.

Making a Charitable Checkoff Donation?  Be sure to download these two forms to add to your folder if you plan to file by mail!

Tip #3: Don’t Furget the Due Date

Procatstination might be your typical technique but don’t let taxes, or the opportunity to support the animals, pass you by!
