Charitable
Checkoff

On your Oregon tax forms, you can designate all or part of your refund to help shelter pets at Oregon Humane Society. Your donation will help feed, care for, and find homes for thousands of animals!

The Impact of your Charitable Checkoff Donation

Funds received through Charitable Checkoff are designated exclusively for OHS programs that provide statewide services, such as our Humane Law Enforcement and Second Chance Program.

In the past, Charitable Checkoff donations helped fund a fleet of greatly needed vehicles for our HLE and Second Chance teams. Fleet vehicles enable our officers to travel across the state educating pet owners and enforcing animal cruelty and neglect laws when warranted. These generous gifts also aid our Second Chance Program in transporting animals from smaller shelters throughout Oregon to OHS, relieving capacity and placing animals into loving homes.

Every year, Charitable Checkoff donations help provide shelter, food, and medical care to HLE and Second Chance animals throughout the state of Oregon.

2025 Kicker

In the 2025 tax year, Oregonians can expect to receive a kicker, a return of excess revenue from the previous tax year, or as Tuna the Tax Tabby puts it—extra moolah for you! This makes it a great year to consider making a charitable donation to help animals in need!

How to Donate Your Tax Refund to the Animals

  1. Download Form 2025 Schedule OR-Donate to designate a Charitable Checkoff gift to Oregon Humane Society (Line 4, Charity Code Number 10).
  2. Fill in your donation amount on  2025 Form OR-40, Line 49.
  3. Feel good knowing that your refund is helping animals in our communities across the state.

Donations made through Charitable Checkoff come to OHS anonymously. While we are unable to thank donors individually, we greatly appreciate your support!
