Many employers sponsor annual workplace giving campaigns through which employees can elect to make payroll deductions to selected charities. Encourage your employer participates in such a campaign and see if OHS is a possible choice. What a convenient way to help the animals!

Oregon Humane Society to receive $20,500 from Portland General Electric Employee Giving Campaign
Thanks to the dedicated employees at Portland General Electric, the Oregon Humane Society will receive more than $20,500 in donations, including PGE’s 50 percent company match, from its annual Employee Giving Campaign.
PGE employees and retirees can give to any 501(c)(3) charity during the campaign and OHS, a featured agency since 2009, received more than 90 pledges during this campaign and approximately $89,100 through the campaign since 2003.
Since the company match program began in 1998, PGE and its employees and retirees have contributed more than $12 million to their communities through the campaign. In addition to making monetary donations to their favorite organizations, PGE employees and retirees also give freely of their personal time. During 2009 alone, PGE volunteers are expected to log more than 50,000 volunteer hours with their favorite nonprofit organizations.
