ADOPTED: 12/20/2011   Name: Dallas  Code Number: 24838
Type: Dog     Breed: Hound
Pattern:
Tri Color     Color: Tri Color/Unknown
Gender: Male     Age:   7 Yr, 4 Mo     Weight: 49 lbs.
Description:

I have a video! Calling all HOUND people and those of you out there who love to help dogs with special needs. Dallas is a typical hound in every way and he is totally blind. He, however, does very well and enjoys following his nose and going on new adventures. Having a fenced in yard would be helpful but remember, hounds "bay" and you'll need to be in a more rural setting so not to upset your neighbors (no apartments or urban living for Dallas please). Dallas will need to remain on a leash, as his nose will quickly guide him elsewhere and will do best without stairs or ever changing furniture due to his being blind. His new home will need to be one with no young children, and any children must respect his space and understand his needs. He will need a cat-free home. A training consultation is included prior to his adoption. Dallas' adoption also includes a free swim session at Doggie Paddle which helps relax and calm Dallas down as well as a free harness.

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, one month pet insurance, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support!
