Animal Care Technician
The Oregon Humane Society has an opening for dynamic individuals who wish to join our Shelter Operations team as an Animal Care Technician. The ACT is responsible for providing the highest quality of care to animals in residence at OHS.
Responsibilities include monitoring the health and temperament of animals; preparing incoming animals for adoption placement; feeding, cleaning, medicating, testing and transporting animals on a daily basis and in a timely and efficient manner; preparing and providing accurate and meaningful documentation for animal cages and kennels; and assisting the Animal Care Supervisor in accumulating information important to the placement of shelter animals, based on established, written criterion.
The most qualified candidate for this position must also be able to facilitate positive interactions between OHS and the general public; assist the public with animal selection; and provide helpful and education guidance with respect to selection. The individuals selected for this role will report to the Cattery Animal Care Supervisor and will work in Shelter Operations at OHS.
This is a full time, hourly position. The pay rate will be $11.00 per hour. This position is eligible for the OHS benefits offerings.
