Looking Back at 2017: Many Tails to Tell

2017 proved to be another impactful year for the Oregon Humane Society.

It was a year full of unprecedented natural disasters – from hurricanes in Texas, to floods in Florida, to devastation in St. Croix. Thanks to your support, OHS was able to heed the call. Over a dozen OHS rescue teams were deployed to disaster-stricken areas, providing aid to pets in need and reuniting families.

During this year’s legislative session, we were able to pass four bills to protect animals and enable people to offer help to pets in need, including HB 2732.

In 2018, OHS turns 150 years old. In the last century and a half, we have worked hard to help pets in this community, and set the bar for shelters across the country. With your support, we are able to protect pets from abuse and neglect, find new homes for over 11,000 animals each year, provide medical care, and help pets and families in need. Together, we will continue to make a difference in the lives of animals for the next 150 years.

From all of us at the Oregon Humane Society, we wish you the happiest of holidays and thank you for your support in 2017!

OHS is supported entirely by private donations and receives no tax dollars. Please donate today to continue helping pets in need throughout 2018.
