Oregon Humane Society’s After School Clubs aim to inspire, educate, and empower today’s youth to create a more humane future for animals. Sessions will feature socialization with shelter pets, animal enrichment crafts, and presentations from professionals of the industry. These clubs are not only FUN but they teach real-world skills that are foundational for future careers in the field of animal welfare!
February 1-22, Wednesdays, 6 to 7:30 p.m.
In this four-week course, participants will learn how protective laws are created, and what they can do to stand up for animals in their communities. We will have guest speakers from the field of Humane Law Enforcement to share their firsthand experiences of how they use empathy and compassion to respond to calls for help. Every week, we will socialize with our pets and discover how humane law is crucial to the protection of animals.
March 1 – 22, Wednesdays, 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Calling all future Animal Professionals! This club is an opportunity to dip your toes in the field of Animal Health and Wellness. We will explore a variety of species and breeds, learning about everything from biology to the behavior of the pets we serve. Every week we will socialize with our pets and discover how kindness and compassion is woven through everything we do for these pets.
