Team Volunteers

Interested in bringing a team of people to volunteer for a one-time session at OHS? Learn more about what team volunteer projects consist of, and how to schedule a visit.

A Small Team visit to Oregon Humane Society includes 6 to 10 people. Youth Teams must include at least one adult chaperone age 25 or older in their Team.

Large teams are instrumental in helping us maintain our dog walking path and grounds, and helps us provide a safe place for our dogs, staff and volunteers as well as the local wildlife that depend on this habitat.

  • Everyone in your group must be 12 years of age or older.
  • Ability to squat, stand, bend, lift and twist for long periods of time.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow lengthy instructions, adhere to shelter policies, procedures and protocol, and to think and act quickly to ensure volunteer, animal and public safety.

Waivers and Insurance: Youths ages 12-17 must have completed waiver and health insurance to participate. Please print and bring this completed waiver to your visit: Youth Group Volunteer Waiver Form  Anyone without completed forms or insurance coverage will not be allowed to participate. One chaperone (25 years or older) for every eight youths is required. 

Adults (18 or older) will be asked to sign a waiver release on site.

Dress Code: All participants must wear long pants and closed-toed shoes (tennis shoes/boots) and should leave valuables at home.
