Military Veterans Receive Half-Price Adoptions

Come to the Oregon Humane Society on Veterans Day Weekend

Pets bring so much joy to our lives. They provide comfort, companionship and unconditional love. There’s nothing quite like a wagging tail or gentle purr to welcome you home. That’s why the Oregon Humane Society is celebrating Veterans Day with half-price pet adoptions for military veterans and active duty service members, Friday, Nov. 9 through Monday, Nov. 12, 2018 with military ID.

“OHS is grateful to the men and women who have served our country,” says Sharon Harmon, OHS President and CEO. “Reducing adoption fees to help our veterans bring a furry family member into their home is one way we can say ‘thank you’.”

There are close to 200 pets at OHS looking for a forever home, including dogs, cats, hamsters and chinchillas. Adoption fees vary and include vaccines, spay/neuter, microchip, one month of pet insurance for Oregon residents, a health exam with a vet of your choosing and a coupon from Mud Bay.

OHS hours for viewing and meeting pets are 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Sunday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday.
