The puppy stolen from the Oregon Humane Society on Sept. 16 was recovered safe yesterday evening. The puppy, Marlowe, will be reunited today with her OHS foster parent and the adopter who was waiting to meet her before she was stolen.

The Portland Police, acting on a tip received from a member of the public by OHS, recovered the puppy last night from an individual in Southeast Portland. OHS employees accompanied the police to a household in in the Powellhurst-Gilbert area and positively identified the pet as Marlowe, a two-month old female Australian shepherd/pit bull mix.

No arrests have been made at this time. The criminal case is now with the Portland Police. If charges are filed or there are developments in the case, updates will be provided.

Marlowe’s reunion with her foster parent and interested adopter will take place later today.
