What my friends at OHS say about me:

• My foster mom said that I can be described best with a single word: gentle!
• I might start off shy, but once I get to know you, I'll greet you with happy wags and bump your hand for pets.
• Looking for a dog that's housetrained? I haven't had a single accident in my foster home!
• It will be important to spend a few weeks with me in a secure back yard before trying to introduce me to new places, people or things. I am at my best when I get a lot of support and do better with people I have built a trusting relationship with.
• Even in my senior years, I really like to romp and play with the other dogs in my foster home! I might enjoy having other pets in the home.
• I have some previous injuries to my hind leg that makes it a little harder to get around, but I'm still enjoying life and would love to be your companion around the home, in the yard and on short neighborhood walks!

The type of home I require:

• I must go to a home with a fully fenced yard. No apartments or busy neighborhoods.
• Everyone living in the household will need to meet prior to my adoption.
• I will need to meet any resident dogs first before going home with you.

My adoption process:

• OHS has created a more in-depth adoption questionnaire, which can be accessed via the "Meet Me" button at the top of the profile.
• Once it is reviewed, you will receive an email with a link to schedule a phone consultation.
• After your consult, if it feels like a good match, your adoption counselor will schedule an in-person meet and greet and you will meet me with our volunteer and staff handlers. If you fall in love, you will have the option to come in and spend time with me to build a relationship prior to adopting!

Interested in adopting me?

Animals available for adoption in foster homes need a special questionnaire submitted. From there, we will make an initial appointment for a phone consult to discuss their needs, and then schedule a meet and greet. Appointments are set on a first-come first-served basis in the order that we receive the questionnaires.
