Oregon Humane Society’s Beer Label Photo Contest provides an opportunity for pets to get the celebrity-level status they all deserve by being featured on the label of Drinking Buddy, a West Coast IPA from Spotlight Brewing.
Our 2026 contest had 994 adorable entries, and the 93,366 votes that were cast helped raise more than $94,000 in support of Oregon Humane’s life-changing programs and services. Thank you to all who participated!

The 2026 Winners
These superstars have their beautiful faces featured on the label for Drinking Buddy, a west Coast IPA from Spotlight Brewing!
Duke – 1st Place
Duke was a 4.5 year-old Berner we lost to Lymphoma on July 10, 2026. From bumpy beginnings, he found forever love in his third home. Duke lived by one simple question: Have you chest bumped life today yet, bro? What he lacked in functioning brain cells he made up for in charisma, loyalty, infectious positivity, and his love for children and cats. You could always count on Duke to be waiting at the door for you, excited to present you with his stuffed lion or cow. Through the very end he was eager to show us his love through “happy hands” and remind us of the young rascal he could be by only cooperating once he was sure he had received all the finest treats. He will be missed but not forgotten. In honor of Duke, crack a cold one and go chest bump life!
Ray - 2nd Place
Ray came to Portland from Pendleton through the Oregon Humane Second Chance Program as a young kitten. Although he seemed to be in a never ending battle with tricky skin issues while in foster care, the Oregon Humane medical team never gave up on him, even bringing in an outside specialist. Through it all, Ray showed resilience and was always loving, never losing his spark. Eight months after his arrival at Oregon Humane, he was medically cleared for adoption and we could make it official! While it may technically be a foster “fail,” it’s a true success story!
Scout – 3rd Place
Scout was an exceptional beast – big bouncy and barky and definitely the looker in the family with her incredible red and gold coat. She was also the sweetest, most gentle girl, with the biggest paws and the longest tail. Our community exponentially expanded with her in it, and we are indebted to all her friends at Mary S Young Dog Park who loved her and helped make her life rich and full. Scout was never without her frisbee and loved to play tug with anyone who would attempt to take it from her. Furever in our hearts!
Sherman – Pawfect Model
Sherman is a rescue from The Navajo Nation – he’s an American Village Dog and foster fail (win!) we adopted 5 years ago as a medical needs dog. Luckily, he’s the best patient ever. Sherman is a legend in our neighborhood with his signature Mohawk hairstyle and sweet disposition.
The 2026 Runners-Up
Poppy – 4th Place and People’s Champ
Poppy is a rescue Jindo mix with a tail that’s always wagging, a goofy grin that’s always on tap, and a talent for bringing people together. After surviving a life-threatening allergic reaction and emergency surgery this spring, she bounced right back to adventure.
Kitty – 5th Place
Kitty was found one late night when my sister and I snuck out to get snacks from the corner store. She’s been with me and my family since, moving from Japan to Seattle to Portland. For 21 years, she was my number one lady. We said our goodbyes to her on May 9th. This entry is in celebration of her long life and happy memories.
Bell – 6th Place
Sweet, loyal, and always ready for an adventure (or a nap), Bell has a knack for making every day a little brighter. Whether she’s wagging her tail on a walk, sneaking under the blankets before anyone notices, or waiting expectantly for her next cheese tax payment, Bell reminds everyone around her that life’s greatest joys are often the simplest ones.
