Kids petting a kitten

Junior Volunteer Day

Do you want to help pets find their forever homes at Oregon Humane Society? Do you have a community service goal, or want to learn more about how to be a youth volunteer and advocate for animals? This two-hour program provides youth ages 12 to 16 with a hands-on experience helping the animals at the Oregon Humane Society. Students will learn how to be animal advocates, learn safety and handling tips, complete a service project for the animals here at the shelter, and work socializing the animals. This is a great start to your animal advocacy experience!

All proceeds from this event go to support the animals and operations of the shelter.

COVID Safety Protocols
We are currently planning to hold events in-person at the shelter (masks required), but that could change if COVID numbers continue to rise. OHS has mandated that staff be vaccinated or tested weekly, and we have safety protocols in place across the shelter.

Capacity is limited to 18 spots.
