Meet Your Pawfect Match on March 29!

Looking to welcome a new dog to your life? Sign up for our Pawfect Match adoption event on Saturday, March 29 at 5 p.m. at OHS Portland Campus! You’ll get to meet 10 of our longest-resident pups and chat with staff, volunteers, and foster parents about each dog’s ideal home—ultimately setting you both up for the Pawfect Match!

How to Participate

Step 1: Complete our adoption questionnaire by Saturday, March 29, 10am so we can get to know a bit about you, your lifestyle, and what you’re looking for in a canine companion. (The questionnaire is required, but it is non-binding and does not guarantee an adoption.)

Step 2: Complete this simple form to notify us of your interest in the Pawfect Match event.

Step 3: You’ll receive an email from OHS’ Customer Care team within 48 hours of submitting your questionnaire and interest form to let you know if you’d be a potential match for our Pawfect Match pups. (If you’re not, don’t be discouraged! We know these pups well and will be looking to make the best possible matches for them. We may have another dog at our shelter who is right for you!)

Step 4: If invited to attend the event, you’ll meet 10 wonderful pups on Saturday, March 29 at 5 p.m. at our Portland shelter, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd.

Step 5: If you find your Pawfect Match at the event, you can take your new best friend home immediately! Pawfect Match adopters will receive an adoption gift basket with goodies for your new BFF and a coupon for a free one-on-one training class at OHS.

How is This Different from Regular OHS Adoptions?

Great question! This event provides potential adopters with the opportunity to meet 10 different dogs during one shelter visit, including some dogs who are currently housed outside of the shelter at our Behavior & Rescue Center or in foster homes. Typically, interested adopters would only be able to meet one or two dogs during a single visit to OHS. By attending this event, you’ll get to know 10 amazing, deserving pups who have been patiently waiting for the right family to come along.

I Looked at the Roster and Already Fell in Love. What Do I Do?

Don’t wait until the event! Regular adoptions will be ongoing between now and March 29, so if you have your heart set on one particular dog, we recommend coming in to meet them ASAP. (Please note that some Pawfect Match dogs are housed outside of the shelter and will require an adoption appointment if you want to meet them before March 29.
