• I have been working with the Behavior team at OHS and I'm looking for a special home. It will take time and patience to get to know me. Click the "meet me" button to start the process and schedule an appointment.
• To learn more about my specific needs, please read my What to Expect handout.
• New things are a little scary to me, but I all I need is time and someone to show me it's okay. I have an aloof personality and am not overly expressive, preferring to observe.
• Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.
• I really enjoy the company of my human friends once I have a chance to warm up and get to know them!
• I am still learning how to walk on leash, especially in new environments that can be overwhelming. I need verbal encouragement, patience and of course treats from you to help me!
• I would much prefer a leisurely sniffari walk than joining you for anything fast paced.
• I like to make my way through life at a slower pace: casual walks, lots of naps, and savouring tasty food.

The type of home I'm looking for:

• I would flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.
• Loud noises and unpredictable movements can make me uncomfortable, I would do best in a home with calm, older children.
• I can be picky about my canine companions. Slow introductions and having my own space will be important for me to adjust to a home with resident dogs.
• I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted.

Meet and greets with pets are done on a first-come, first-served basis.

When you come to the shelter and see a pet you are interested in meeting, take note of the pet’s name and visit the front desk in the lobby.
