What my friends at OHS say about me:
- I may do best with an owner who has had experience owning or caring for shy and fearful dogs.
- I am such a beautiful, sweet, sensitive girl that just needs a patient, loving home to show me what a good girl I am!
- I love treats and this can be a great way to work on training and confidence building and to help us form that forever bond.
- I am an active girl that benefits from lots of both physical and mental enrichment activities.
- I have arthritis , which there is no cure for, but there are many ways to manage.
- Escape Artist: I have a history of escaping doors or fences. I will need supervision when outdoors or we can go on adventures together - on leash of course!
- Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.
- Resource Guarding: I have a history of guarding my people, food, toys and/or bedding from other animals or people.
- I am still learning how to walk on leash, especially in new environments that can be overwhelming. I need verbal encouragement, patience and of course treats from you to help me!
The type of home I'm looking for:
- I would flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.
- I need to go to a home without cats or small animals.
- I am not for the first time dog owner. Someone very familiar with canine body language is a must for me.
- I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted. Slow introductions and having my own space will be important for me to adjust to a home with resident dogs.
- Loud noises and unpredictable movements can make me uncomfortable, so I need a home without small children.
- It could be with you! Click here to learn about the adoption process.

Interested in adopting me?
Animals available for adoption in foster homes need a special questionnaire submitted. From there, we will make an initial appointment for a phone consult to discuss their needs, and then schedule a meet and greet. Appointments are set on a first-come first-served basis in the order that we receive the questionnaires.
