For more than 150 years, animal welfare has been the heart and soul of OHS. We pride ourselves on being a national leader in this field. The Oregon Humane Society rescues, heals and adopts more than 11,000 pets each year. We never place a time limit on how long cats, dogs and other pets stay at our shelter. OHS relies on donations to support our adoption, education, and animal rescue programs. We are committed to creating a better future for pets and we work hard to achieve our goals and offer a rewarding workplace.

According to a recent employee engagement survey, our employees gave OHS top scores for their overall satisfaction with the organization, their managers, and their daily work. OHS recently conducted a compensation market study across all jobs in the organization with the goal of paying competitive wages for all positions. At OHS, we adhere to a living wage philosophy and pay all employees a minimum of $15/hour.
