FOSTER: Update on Onery! This big love bug is ready for adoption, and is no longer needing daily insulin injections, as his diabetes is under control at this time! Thant's great news for this guy who needs a break-and a forever home! Onery had just about run out of luck when he showed up at the Oregon Humane Society. He had just been diagnosed with diabetes and his owner was unable to provide the medical care he needed. This big loving guy was such a gentle and cooperative patient, that in a short time the medical staff was able to regulate his diabetes with insulin and watch Onery's health improve. He's accomplished some much-needed weight loss, and with the help of a great foster parent, his condition was brought under control through dail insulin injections. And what Onery is in return is a loving and attentive companion. He loves nothing better than to perch himself on your chest and purr away. He may be a little shy a first and may want to spend his time in a quiet, safe and secluded spot (when he first went into foster care he liked his cat carrier with the door left ajar). But it will not take him long to get to know the lay of the land and make himself completely at home. Once he gets comfortable in his new surroundings, he likes to sit on the arm of the sofa or comfy chair or at the end of the bed. He also likes to sit on top of the cat tree at his foster mom's home, and will even jump a few feet from the bed to the cat tree. That is pretty energetic for a 13-year-old! Onery is big talker and loves to greet you in the morning with pleasant conversation as you prepare his breakfast. He is a good eater but is more of grazer and will come back and forth to his food throughout the day. He eats wet food in the morning and evening, and has an ample supply of dry food available to him throughout the day. Onery is making the most of his second chance in life, and is sure to make whoever opens their heart to this special companion feel loved and lucky indeed.
