13th Annual OHS Pug Crawl They're coming to get you—and cover you with pug kisses. Night of the Living Pugs invaded Portland on May 19 during the 13th annual OHS Pug Crawl outside the Portland Brewing Company Taproom.
Don't worry: these zombie-themed pugs and their people are not the flesh-eating types. Guests enjoyed food, beer, a photo booth, live music, and more at the event.
Costume Contest Winners The highlight of the day was the Parade of Pugs, where approximately 100 costumed pugs strutted down the parade route.
The costume contest winner (shown at top left) was Gretchen Fersch of Milwaukie with her pug, Helga, as "Reemergence." The runner-up was Christine Sanchez with her pug, Bella, as "Zombie Bride." See photos online here.
Did you and/or your dog get a portrait taken at the photo booth? View those photos online here.
New Records Set This year's event raised nearly $12,000 for the animals, and drew a crowd of people estimated at 1,500. Both of these are new Pug Crawl records.
Helping Pets in Need The 2012 Pug Crawl raised nearly $8,000 to help abandoned, abused and unwanted animals. OHS, the largest and oldest humane society in the Northwest, relies entirely on private donations to find homes for more than 11,000 animals a year.
