What is it?
5-weeks of dog training plus Intro to Training class
The Oregon Humane Society offers dog training classes that are fun, positive and easy to fit into your life. We offer a variety of class times in an effort to meet your scheduling needs.
Our Basic Manners class will not only help you and your dog learn the basics, ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, and loose-leash walking, but will help your dog learn to listen to these cues around distractions. We will work on loose leash walking around other dogs, people, toys, etc., we will help teach your dog how to come away from distractions, and, most importantly, simply help your dog learn how to focus on you when you really need it. We use real life scenarios so the skills you learn in class are easily transferred into your home and everyday life.
| Is your dog really distracted by the presence of other dogs? Does your dog bark, whine, pull and stop responding to you even when you just see a dog at a distance? Consider our Reactive Rover class, or contact us to help determine whether Basic Manners is appropriate for your dog. |

Our Training Philosophy
Our training philosophy focuses on building a strong, healthy bond between a dog and his person through positive reinforcement. We do not like to use fear or intimidation-based tactics. OHS trainers believe that reward-based techniques and education on canine behavior is the best way to promote a trusting and respectful relationship between individuals and their dogs.
