Animal-Assisted Interactions (AAI)
AAI Pet Partner Class
Come learn the skills you need to provide caring, professional and safe visits with your pet to hospitals, assisted-living facilities, classrooms, libraries, schools and other facilities. The Pet Partner Class offers extensive instruction regarding the practice of animal-assisted interactions (AAI) along with role-playing exercises to improve your skills for visiting different types of people and settings.
While the manual portion of your AAI Training is intrinsic to your success, we strongly suggest also completing an actual dog training course to work on all the components you need to become a fabulous Pet Partner Team (if your Pet Partner is a canine). Whether it’s a Canine Good Citizen course, basic manners training, or specific Pet Partner/AAI Team training – additional training with your pet will substantially improve your chances of success at evaluation time.
Upon completion of this class you will be eligible to sign up for the Delta Society Pet Partner Evaluation so that you can become a registered Pet Partner Team with the Delta Society. Don’t forget to leave yourself time for additional pet training before evaluating!
