Pugstock ''08: A Pugtastic Event!
May 18, Portland, OR: There were pugs of all shapes, sizes and costumes as nearly 1,000 people and almost as many pugs gathered last week for "Pugstock: The 8th Annual Oregon Humane Society Pug Crawl."
Under sunny skies and warm temperatures in northwest Portland, pug fans came together to enjoy food and beverages from MacTranahan's Taproom and socialize with their friends.
The day's highlight was the annual Pug Costume Parade, which featured over 60 pugs dressed in everything imaginable: a VW microbus, a hippie, a super hero, a life guard, a giraffe and countless characters from fictional and real-life setting (such as: "Pug Girls Gone Wild!")

Lilly, the costume winner, with owner Kate Kuitert of Sherwood.
With KGW-TV's Drew Carney as the master of ceremonies, the pugs paraded down 31st Avenue before a crowd that lined both sides of the streets. The judges bestowed the Queen of Pugs title for 2008 on Lilly, a pug costumed in scuba diving gear. Lilly's owner is Kate Kuitert for Sherwood, OR.
