Ride for the Paws Motorcycle Ride: Sunday Sept. 16
Join us at the 6th Annual Ride for the Paws on Sunday, Sept. 16 for a half-day motorcycle ride though spectacular Northwest scenery. Enjoy a pancake breakfast, barbecue lunch, ice cream and a tour of one the country's most advanced animal shelters.
All proceeds from the ride benefit the animals at the Oregon Humane Society.
On-site registration begins at 7 am. Last bike out at 9:30 am. Directions to registration area here.
The ride is sponsored by Cycle Specialties, the Northwest's premier motorcycle repair and accessories store. Additional assistance provided by the Goldwing Touring Association-Chapter P.
Register On Site
Register for the ride Sept. 16 at the start point, 701 NE 105th Ave. Suite D, Portland, OR (map). Get your free pancake breakfast at registration, which opens at 7 am. Last bike out at 9:30 am.
Registration is $30 per rider and $45 for two-up bikes. Registration includes t-shirt , pancake breakfast, barbecue lunch, and afternoon ice cream and soda (t-shirts will be available the day of the ride for those who registered in advance; it will take approximately two weeks to provide t-shirts to those who register on-site).
Highlights of Ride for the Paws
Start point and time: Sunday, Sept. 16, at Cycle Specialties, 5701 NE 105th Ave. Suite D (just "down the hall" from the former Wingman shop) - directions here. Doors open at 7 am. Last bike out at 9:30 am.
Ride Route: You'll see spectacular Northwest scenery and have ample opportunities to stop, snack and eat during this half-day ride. See route map here.
Pancake Breakfast: Complimentary pancake breakfast for all riders provided at the start point by Rubber Side Down Towing (Christopher Lee). Lunch Stop: A mid-ride lunch stop will take place at Bob Lanphere's Beaverton Motorcycles, complete with complimentary barbecue and refreshments, courtesy of Bob Lanphere's Motorcycles.
End point and time: Last bike in at 2:30 pm at the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland, OR 97211 (directions).
Post-Ride Activities: Ice cream and refreshments served from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm at OHS. 50/50 drawing and raffle drawing (benefiting OHS) at 3 pm at OHS. Guided tours of the shelter start at 2 pm, last tour starts at 3:30 (self-guided tours available until shelter closes at 7 pm).
About OHS: OHS is the nation’s third-oldest humane society, founded in 1868. Last year OHS found homes for more than 11,500 animals, including 3,000 animals that came from other shelters around the state. OHS “is widely considered one of the top humane societies -- if not the top -- in the nation,” said the Oregonian newspaper. 100% of Ride for the Paws proceeds go to help animals at OHS. |
