Thief Steals Puppy About to be Adopted from OHS Shelter
Dec. 23, 2012: OHS is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the brazen theft of a puppy from the shelter yesterday afternoon, Dec. 22.
The three-month-old puppy was stolen from a locked kennel just minutes before he was about to go home with a family who had adopted him. OHS is concerned that the thief will attempt to sell the Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix.
Call Tip Line
Anyone who has seen this puppy or has information about the theft is urged to call the OHS tip line at (503) 802-6888.
“We’re hoping that we can find the puppy and reunite him with the family who wanted to adopt him,” said OHS Executive Director Sharon Harmon. “It’s heartbreaking to see something like this happen. The puppy was ready to go to his new home.”
The puppy, named John, weighs about three pounds and is a reddish/light brown color (see picture). He was stolen Saturday afternoon at approximately 4:30 pm.
A person of interest in the case is described as a white male in his early 40’s, approximately 5’6”, with a thin build and light brown hair and mustache.
