The Real ”Animal Cops” Oct. 17
Come learn about the important work OHS investigation officers perform every day. The OHS Investigation Department has officers in the field six days a week, handling a variety of animal cruelty complaints. The three investigation officers are commissioned by the Governor with peace officer authority to enforce Oregon's animal cruelty statutes and ensure that the two million pets in Oregon are protected. While the primary focus is on educating owners about proper care for their animals, OHS will use its authority to ensure every animal receives at least minimum care and we will prosecute anyone who is guilty of gross negligence or abuse. OHS officers also respond to rescue animals from disasters in Oregon and across the country with the assistance of the OHS Technical Animal Rescue team.
When: Wednesday, October 17th, 12 - 12:45 (doors open at 11:30).
Where: University Club, 1225 SW 6th Ave, Portland, 97204 (Jefferson room).
Lunch Options: Cost = $23 (includes gratuity). *No outside food is permitted at this location.
