Jan. 26, 2011, Portland, OR:  A rare group of pure-bred dogs arrived at the Oregon Humane Society today, relinquished by a former breeder in Tillamook. The dogs, which will be available for adoption as early as Saturday, include five Maltese puppies, four Maltese adults, and six adult Cavalier King Charles spaniels.

The dogs were the personal pets of a former breeder who could no longer afford to care for them. The former breeder contacted Tillamook Animal Control, which accepted the dogs and handed them over today to the Oregon Humane Society.

“Each of these dogs will get a health exam, a nice grooming, and then be spayed or neutered before adoption,” said OHS Operations Director Brenda King. The adult Maltese dogs range in age from two to seven years, while the Cavalier King Charles spaniels range in age from five to eleven years.
