140th Birthday Bash at OHS on Nov. 15th Nov. 3 , 2008
Calling all kids: you’re invited to a birthday party at OHS celebrating 140 years of helping animals. It takes place 1-4 pm Saturday, Nov. 15th at the OHS shelter located at 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland, OR 97211.
At OHS you can have fun inside spacious Manners Hall - there will be a variety of activities, including mystery boxes, hop-a-long pet care, face painting and more. Young guests will receive a t-shirt, balloon, and a birthday sticker while they last.
To help celebrate, OHS is trying to adopt out 140 pets during the three-day birthday weekend. They are offering a 20% off all adoptions fees for anyone who brings a present from the wish list below. Also Best Friends' Corner (OHS Retail Pet Supply Store) will be offering
a 20% discount on all merchandise, except pet food, for the weekend.
There will be tours of the OHS kennels, and students are encouraged to bring dog biscuits and other treats for shelter dogs, such as food supplies and newspaper (OHS even has it’s very own recipe to follow if you’d like to make homemade dog biscuits). Cake and ice cream will be served from 3-4 pm inside the OHS Education Hall.
