Hurricane Katrina Animal Relief and Donation Information

Below are various resources to help find missing pets, rescue animals, answer questions, volunteer to help, or make donations to help with the relief efforts.
The contents of external Web sites are beyond OHS's control.
The Oregon Humane Society had an animal rescue team in New Orleans for two weeks.(Read their Rescue Journal.) They recently returned and on their heels, OHS sent another team of 6 led again by Lt. Randy Covey. Their mission will to help care for and provide some TLC to the animals in the emergency animal shelter in Gonzales. (Read their Relief Journal.) They will return to Portland on September 30. Please note, the Lamar Dixon facility (the emergency animal shelter) is not an adoption facility.
Please use the resources below to help locate or provide information about a missing pet. The OHS team will be unable to respond directly to inquiries about specific addresses and animals.
