The new People’s Choice voting format helped raise a record $16,808 dollars for pets and drew more than 400 photo submissions. You can still view the contest results online here. All top photos are shown below.
With the voting now closed, the official winners in the People’s Choice categories are:
Top Dog: Meatloaf, by Wendy Smith

In addition to the above winners, a group of photo-loving OHS employees reviewed all submissions to determine a Staff Pick. The Staff Pick is judged on the quality of the photography and the emotional qualities captured by the image.
Staff Pick Winner: Nellie Joe, by Marika Bierma
Staff Pick Runner-up: Jackie, by Dru Martin
The winners in each category receive a $250 gift certificate from Pro Photo Supply and a $200 gift card from Frame Central, plus a professionally printed and framed photograph of their entry courtesy of Pro Photo Supply and Frame Central.
The winners and runner-ups will be featured in the Fall issue of the OHS Magazine, due to arrive in mailboxes the first week in October.
