Portland's Next TopDog Model Search
Is your dog stylish? Do they know how to strutt on the "dogwalk"? LexiDog and the Oregon Humane Society are searching for Portland's most hip pooches to crown as Portland's top dog model. Dogs will be divided into two categories, large dog and small dog, and the top 10 semi-finalist in each group will compete for the crown at the Hotel Monaco on June 18. Entries accepted until May 30. Help us turn Waterfront Park into one big block party for pets and people on Saturday, May 10 for the 21st annual Doggie Dash. Sign up to run or walk in this 2-mile fun event and come with or without your dog. After the run/walk, stay around for live music, a pancake breakfast, doggie contests, and more! If you have behavior problems with your cat, this is the class for you. You'll learn about positive reinforcement, cat proofing, kids and cats, getting the best use out of toys, your cat’s social life, and realistic expectations for cat behavior. The public, volunteers and staff are welcome. No need to RSVP (but please leave your cat at home). $30 suggested donation.

The world's largest gathering of Pugs and their owners is a benefit for the Oregon Humane Society. The 8th annual Pug Crawl, taking place outside MacTarnahan’s Taproom in NW Portland, celebrates Pugstock: Pugs, Peace,& Love! This groovy day will feature a Pug Parade down NW 31st Ave., a Pug Costume Contest with prizes for the King and Queen of Pugs, a Pug kissing booth, doggie massages from Heal NW, retail booths selling doggie goodies, and lip-smacking treats and drinks.
