Animal Care Technician
The Oregon Humane Society is seeking an enthusiastic customer service oriented individual to work with our Animal Care team to facilitate positive interactions between OHS and the public. Our goal is to help adopters choose the right companion animals for their lifestyle.
We are looking for strong, energetic, positive people to provide quality care and monitor the health and temperament of the animals. Duties include feeding, exercising, cleaning kennels, as well as providing the public with correct information, education and resource materials to assist them with selecting their pets.
Qualified candidates will possess excellent customer service skills, basic knowledge of animal health and behavior and ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, volunteers, and the public. Current Oregon/Washington driver’s license is necessary.
This is a full-time position. Starting pay is $11 per hour with eligibility for an increase to $11.50 plus generous 100% employer paid benefits including health, dental, life and disability insurance and 401k with match after 90 days. Membership
Program Associate
Become a strong contributor to the growth and continued success of the Oregon Humane Society development programs by creating and managing a comprehensive program to increase membership support at the under $1000 level ensuring that all current members “Feel the Love”!
The Membership Program Associate will expand a broad base of public support utilizing (but not limited to) quarterly membership solicitations and prospect mailings, monthly renewal letters, communications targeted to attract specific donor segments, and e-communications to supporters.
Strong candidates will possess:
- superior skills in writing compelling communications
- hands-on creation and production of direct mail, web-based materials and donor acknowledgments
- experience with a publicly supported charity with a donor base of 3000 to 30,000
- quantifiable results increasing donations and building membership support
- database reporting and analysis
- management of financial transactions, record keeping
Skills in graphic design and membership involvement strategies a plus. CFRE certification a strong plus.
