Oregon Humane Society - Doggie Dash 2013

Start a Team

Teams are a great way to have fun, draw attention to a company or organization, and get people excited about Doggie Dash. And did we mention that 100% of the proceeds from your team's fundraising will go to helping the animals at OHS? Don't delay—start your team today!

How to Start a Team

You only need one person to start a team—the captain! There is no additional fee to start a team and there is no maximum or minimum number of team members. Some of our weekly challenges involving teams do require winning teams to have at least four members. But the main team prizes are open to all teams.

The team captain needs to register first by clicking the Start a Team button on the Doggie Dash registration page. Then, follow the prompts and be ready to name your team (and sorry, Canine Crusaders is already taken—that's the name of the OHS employee team!).

The captain of the team gets a web page to use as the team's home page. This works like all the other personal pages in Doggie Dash: the team captain can post a favorite picture on the page along with customized text.

People who join a team pay the same registration fee as all other participants.

Invite Friends and Family

Once the page is up, the captain can go to the Doggie Dash Participant Center to ask friends, family and/or coworkers to join the team or make a donation. A gift to any team member will automatically appear as a gift to the team (as well as a gift to the individual who received it).

Be a Top Team

The captain should encourage fellow teammates to send out emails and collect donations. Every donation made to individual team members will push the team's thermometer higher. The more team members, the more likely it is that your team will be the top dog!

The Participant Center has lots of great tools for tracking your team’s fundraising progress and sending out emails to recruit team mates and to ask for support.

Team Prizes

Compete for the coveted "Doggie Dash Trophy Bowl," which goes to the number one fundraising team. More information about team prizes can be found here.
