Sharon Harmon,
Oregon Humane Society Executive Director
Sharon has been a professional in the field of animal care and welfare for almost 30 years. She has helped lead the Oregon Humane Society, the state's largest and oldest animal protection organization, for 22 years and has served as its Executive Director since 1998. She holds a Bachelor of Science, Zoology (Pre-Vet Med), from Oregon State University and a Certificate in Nonprofit Business Administration and Leadership from Johns Hopkins University, and is a Certified Animal Welfare Administrator.
She has served on the Banfield Shelter Advisory Committee, and chaired the American Humane Association Shelter Advisory Committee. Recipient of the American Veterinary Medical Association's Humane Award for 2008, she is currently the president of the National Federation of Humane Societies. Sharon shares her home with her husband and two dogs and two cats.

Brenda King,
Director of Operations
Brenda brings more than 20 years of leadership and program management experience to her current role as OHS Director of Operations. Brenda joined OHS in 2005 to help with the capital campaign to build the AMLC and managed the AMLC construction project. She is currently responsible for running the daily operations at OHS and oversees the Animals Care, Customer Care, Animal Admissions, Best Friends Corner Retail Stores, Behavior and Training Department, and Facilities. Her background includes seven years as a Director of Business Development at American Express Corporate Services and Program Management experience for OECO Corporation.
She lives at home in Portland with her husband and three furry soulmates.

Gary Kish
Director of Development
Gary leads a team of six who are committed to ensuring OHS's financial stability and providing exceptional donor stewardship. Toward the goal of financial stability, Gary has implemented a broad and diverse array of programs including planned giving, direct mail, monthly giving, a retail store, vehicle donation program and other strategies that have created a very stable, private donation funding base. During his tenure at OHS the donor base has grown from 2,500 contributors to more than 88,000.
In response to the needs of pet owners, Gary founded the Oregon Humane Society's Friends Forever care-of-surviving-pets program in 1995. The program has evolved as OHS championed the passage of two Oregon laws which facilitate including pets in estate plans. Gary uses this tool to assist hundreds of people in creating plans for their pets. |

Amy Dielschneider
Finance Director
Amy brings over 27 years of professional accounting experience - 21 years in not-for-profit accounting. Previous non-profit CFO Experience includes Cascade Aids Project, Portland Area Council of Camp Fire, Inc. and March of Dimes, Oregon Chapter – all with annual external audits and clean audit opinions. She joined the Oregon Humane Society as CFO in June of 2000 and was honored as the Business Journal's CFO of the year in 2007.
Amy lives in North Portland with her current furry family (all OHS alumni) which includes two 130 pound St. Bernard-Rottweiler's Ruckus and Newman and a tripod tabby named Presley. She is a graduate of Portland State University with a BA in Accounting.

Kris Otteman, D.V.M.,
Director of Shelter Medicine
Kris brings 24 years of veterinary and leadership experience to her current roles as OHS Director of Shelter Medicine and adjunct faculty member for Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She leads the OHS Animal Medical Learning Center, the nation's only in-shelter teaching hospital, and is responsible for the care of 11,000 shelter pets annually.
A co-founder of Banfield, The Pet Hospital, her background also includes seven years in mixed animal practice in Southern Oregon. Her broad experience at Banfield included executive leadership and management as well as a strategic partnership with PetSmart Charities on national fundraising and adoption initiatives. She has also serves on the board for Cat Adoption Team, has served as a trustee of Banfield Charitable Trust, and has been a member of the Oregon Veterinary Medical Licensing Board. Dr. Otteman is a Charter Member of the International Veterinary Forensic Sciences Association, a member of the OVMA and AVMA . She lives at home in Washington with her family, both two and four-legged. |

Nicole Cossette, MSHRM, SPHR,
Director of Human Resources
Nicole brings more than 10 years of human resources and leadership experience to her current role as OHS Director of Human Resources. She is responsible for all aspects of HR for approximately 120 staff members at OHS. Her background includes seven years as a HR Business Partner at Intel Corporation and three years in nonprofit management roles. She is a member of SHRM and PHRMA and is a proud alumnus of the University of North Dakota and Purdue University.
She lives at home in Portland with her husband and five fabulous furry soulmates. |

Barbara Baugnon
Director of Marketing and Communications
Barbara has been in marketing since 1987. She started in Los Angles at Grey Advertising as a Junior Art Director. In 1995 she moved to Portland, Oregon and started a freelance career as a Senior Art Director where one of her jobs was at Saatchi & Saatchi in New York to work on Bell South and Tivo TV. Barbara eventually took a job at Young and Roehr in Portland as a Senior Art Director. Barbara graduated from LSU with a BA in Advertising.
In 2001 she was hired at the Oregon Humane Society and in her first year at OHS facilitated a $350,000 in-kind donations to implement a media campaign. The current advertising work "End Petlessness" has earned many advertising awards locally, nationally and internationally. Barbara lives in Portland with her husband, two Westie rescue dogs and one cat.
