More daylight hours, more hours of operation, more lives saved!

Portland, OR - Daylight savings time never had more meaning. The Oregon Humane Society is now staying open longer to save even more lives. Starting this Monday the OHS Shelter will extend its hours to 9 pm Monday through Saturday (the previous closing time was 7 pm). The new hours (10 am – 9 pm Mon. - Sat.; 10 am – 7 pm Sun.) will be the shelter's new permanent hours of operation. "We're asking people to fill the longer daylight hours with a new love of their life," said Sharon Harmon, executive director of the Oregon Humane Society. “We want to be accessible for all people, including those who work all day, so that they can come to OHS and find the perfect pet.”

To promote Daylight Savings Time and their new hours, OHS is offering a 25% discount off the adoption fee on all animals from March 8 – March 15. "We're staying open until 9 PM, and that means we want to find homes for nine more animals each and very day," added Harmon.
